Inaugural Event Update First of all, thank you for registering and spreading the word about 100 Guys Who Care Oakville. The response has been phenomenal with 100+ guys signed up in less than 4 weeks! Planning is well under way for our Inaugural Event and we are looking forward to seeing you on Wednesday June 17, 2015 at 7 pm at Tavolo (1515 Rebecca Street at Third Line; South Oakville Centre, formerly Hopedale Mall).
Please remember to bring your cheque books! If you can't attend, please arrange to get your $100 cheque (leaving payee blank) to another member attending and we will make sure your money gets donated to the chosen charity and your tax receipt is sent to you in due course!
Charity Selection At the event, we will be looking to members to nominate small local registered charities that serve Halton Region and that are able to issue individual tax receipts. (Nominating a charity is completely voluntary) We will then randomly select 3 eligible nominations for consideration by the group. The persons that nominated the 3 selected charities will be asked to make a short informal pitch (no more than 3 minutes). See our tip sheet here for content to cover. At the end of the pitches, all attending members will vote on the charities presented and we will donate $10,000 or more to the winning charity! We will then fill in the name of the charity on your blank cheque you provided and submit them to the charity for you, and the charity will issue each of you your tax receipt for $100. Still have questions? Visit our website for more FAQs and info on How We Work
Please Spread the Word! Please continue to spread the word to your friends, neighbours and colleagues - our group is not limited to 100 guys. In fact, we would be thrilled to exceed 100 guys in our Inaugural Event and donate more than $10,000 to a local charity!
If you haven't already done so, make sure you sign up with all your contact info on our website here and follow us on social media for more updates.
Looking forward to seeing everyone there! 100 Guys Who Care Oakville
