Recipient Charity & Final Tally
Congratulations to Bank on Bellies for being the Recipient Charity. Together, we raised $18,000 in our Q2/18 event.
Bank on Bellies is a grass-roots initiative started by Georgia, a 12 year old resident of Oakville. After her school held an emergency food drive, she learned about the need of local families that did not have food to eat. In her first drive, she "food raised" over 700 non-perishable food items, but she did not want to stop there. This is how "Bank on Bellies" started. Next, her goal was to raise 2,000 non-perishable food items in 4 weeks leading up to Thanksgiving. With the help of her neighbourhood, family, and friends, she surpassed her goal by raising 2,844 food items! Since the beginning of September 2017, Bank on Bellies has collected 6,768 non-perishable food items and $6,036 for Kerr Street Mission’s Fresh Food Box program because KINDESS FEEDS BELLIES. Since partnering up with Kerr Street Mission, Georgia has organized even more food drives. In her pitch to the 100 Guys, Georgia noted that Food Banks suffer critically low inventory levels between Easter and Thanksgiving, and asked us Guys if we could help, because hunger does not go on vacation. It was great to have Georgia and her parents, Dimitri and Helene, join us for the official cheque drop off to Gary O'Neil at Kerr St. Mission. We'll be sure to have them out at our next event to give us an update.

Our second for 2018 was another huge success. Thanks to all the guys who came out and supported the cause, and for those that couldn't make it but still donated. It was great to have Alison Brindle come out and tell us about The Leaning Disabilities Association of Halton and how they used our group donation from our last event. Special thanks to Oakville Golf Club for providing us with an awesome venue, and Ruso Developments Inc for picking up the tab for the cold drinks and tasty nibbles! Also a special thanks to our dedicated volunteers, including Andrew Sue-A-Quan, Mel Hum, Enzo DiStefano and Rob Ruso for holding down the registration desk. Spread the Word & Stay Connected
Let's keep the momentum going. Please continue to spread the word to your friends, neighbours and colleagues. Our group is not limited to 100 guys or Oakville. We want to focus on Halton based charities and are happy to welcome guys from Burlington, Brampton and Milton. Let's see how big we can get, and how much of an impact we can make in our local communities.
