Q3/18 Results Are In ...

Recipient Charity & Final Tally

Congratulations to Home Suite Hope for being the Recipient Charity. Together, we raised$16,400 in our Q3/18 event. Home Suite Hope (HSH) fills a much-needed gap in the shelter continuum by providing transitional housing to a growing homeless population in Halton Region that need support beyond what is provided by emergency shelter facilities (normally limited to 90 days). HSH provides long-term refuge (average stay of up to 24 months) for low-income, precariously-housed, single parent families so that they can have the time necessary to stabilize their lives. Providing a longer period of stay helps lone-parent families have the time necessary to deal with the issues that have caused them to become homeless and to give them time to stabilize their life so that they can go on to permanent housing.

This cheque drop off was epic! Several of us guys were already scheduled to attend the “Don’t Sleep in Your Car” event supporting HSH, so we decided to make it even more interesting. As the main part of the event started, we hijacked the stage and mic, and delivered our “big” cheque to everyone’s surprise. Sorry for temporarily taking over the show Britta, but we hope you forgive us and will come out to our next event to give us an update.

Thanks to a Great Group of Guys!

Our third event for 2018 was another huge success. Thanks to all the guys who came out and supported the cause, and for those that couldn't make it but still donated. It was great to have Georgia from Bank on Bellies, as well as Gary O'Neil from Kerr St. Mission, come out and tell us about their Fresh Food Program and how they used our group donation from our last event. Special thanks to Concept Lighting for providing us with an awesome venue, cold drinks and tasty nibbles! Also a special thanks to our dedicated volunteers, including Andrew Sue-A-Quan, Mel Hum and Rob Ruso for holding down the registration desk, and Mo Awan for taking care of the event planning. Spread the Word & Stay Connected

Let's keep the momentum going. Please continue to spread the word to your friends, neighbours and colleagues. Our group is not limited to 100 guys or Oakville. We want to focus on Halton based charities and are happy to welcome guys from Burlington, Brampton and Milton. Let's see how big we can get, and how much of an impact we can make in our local communities.

If you are not yet a member and are interested in joining us, please make sure you sign up with all your contact info here so we can add you to our mailing list. You can also follow us on social media for more updates.

Stay tuned for details of our next event ...
