Recipient Charity & Final Tally
Congratulations to Brain Injury Association of Peel and Halton for being the Recipient Charity. Together, we raised $16,400 in our Q4/18 event. Brain Injury Association of Peel and Halton (BIAPH) is a non-profit organization, which exists for the needs of families and survivors of brain injury in the Peel and Halton Regions. BIAPH advocates for, and provides information to, survivors of Acquired Brain Injuries (ABI), their families and support network. They facilitate measures to promote the prevention of brain injury, improve quality/care of life, provide community education, and conduct resource searches on behalf of their members. Special thanks to nominating member Peter Jowahir for sharing his touching personal story which helped highlight this great cause.
We crashed a Christmas Party for this cheque dropoff! BIAPH Caregivers and Survivors were convening for their Holiday gathering when a group from 100 Guys Who Care Oakville interrupted. There was a comical moment of awkwardness before Amir and Donald explained who we were and why we were there, followed by surprise, elation, and gratitude when we showed the "big" cheque! Sorry for interupting, Jo and fellow caregivers. We look forward to your update at our next gathering.
Thanks to a Great Group of Guys!
Our final event for 2018 was another huge success. Thanks to all the guys who came out and supported the cause, and for those that couldn't make it but still donated. It was great to have Britta Martini-Miles from Home Suite Hope come out and tell us about their various programs and how they will use our group donation from our last event. Special thanks to our Venue Sponsor Ace CoWorking for hosting us in such a cool space, our Food Sponsor OKO Bagels for feeding us delicious bagel-based sandwiches, and our Beverage Sponsor PMA Canada for serving Calvados Boulard - what a great line up! Also a special thanks to our dedicated volunteers, including Andrew Sue-A-Quan, Mel Hum and Rob Ruso for holding down the registration desk, and Mo Awan for taking care of the event planning. Spread the Word & Stay Connected
Let's keep the momentum going. Please continue to spread the word to your friends, neighbours and colleagues. Our group is not limited to 100 guys or Oakville. We want to focus on Halton based charities and are happy to welcome guys from Burlington, Brampton and Milton. Let's see how big we can get, and how much of an impact we can make in our local communities.
