Q2 Results Are In!

Recipient Charity & Final Tally

Congratulations to Heartache 2 Hope for being the Recipient Charity. Together, we raised $16,200 in our Q2/19 event. Heartache 2 Hope offers support to suicide loss grievers in Halton and surrounding communities. Founded in 2014, this registered charity recognizes the unique needs of individuals grieving a suicide death and the lack of community-based supportive resources. Their goal is to break the silence of suicide loss. They strive to meet the unique needs of individuals who have experienced the death of a loved one by suicide through their grief support programs. They provide public awareness education and specialized training to community organizations in hopes to break the isolation and reduce the stigma around suicide loss. Their Suicide Loss Support Groups provide a safe, confidential place where people coping with suicide loss can share their experiences and feelings while giving and receiving support from each other. They believe there is great strength to be gained from sharing the journey with others. Special thanks to nominating member Rick Santing for introducing us to H2H and the great work they do in Oakville and across Halton.

Thanks to a Great Group of Guys!

Our second event for 2019 was another huge success. Thanks to all the guys who came out and supported the cause, and for those that couldn't make it but still donated. It was great to hear from Stephanie Wilsack at Reach Out Centre for Kids (ROCK), our Q1/19 Recipient Charity, about the work they do and how they will use our group donation from our last event. Special thanks to our Venue Sponsor, Sheridan Conference Centre, for hosting us and providing food and wine, including food from Noble Bistro & Catering. And, as always, thanks to our Beverage Sponsor, PMA Canada, who supplied Innis & Gunn beer! Also a special thanks to our dedicated volunteers, including Andrew Sue-A-Quan and Mel Hum for holding down the registration desk, and Mo Awan for taking care of the event planning. We want to focus on Halton based charities and are happy to welcome guys from Burlington, Brampton and Milton. Let's see how big we can get, and how much of an impact we can make in our local communities. If you are not yet a member and are interested in joining us, please make sure you sign up with all your contact info here so we can add you to our mailing list.
